Storyboard changes
The main problem we ran into can be seen in our storyboard. Mistakes and corrections are common however when it comes to the storyboard of a film. After all, it is the planning of the film, it is important to fix the issues before one begins to film and this is exactly what we did. When one takes a look at our storyboard one can notice that there are many changes that were made to it in comparison to the final product.
Here we also decided to not have him pick up the bicycle due to the fact we did not think it had much purpose in introducing the character and due to our lack of time |
This is how we initially envisioned our title to appear. We wanted to do a graphic match of an actual 90 degree to the title of our movie Ninety degrees until we realized that in our genre this type of introduction to our title would be perceived as cheesy and would ruin the seriousness of the film. |
Editing
During editing, we also faced some issues in our editing and timing. It took a long time to correct sounds and make sure they were clear. We had to replace them with re-recorded audio in order to make sure we could use these sounds like a tool to create the suspense we wished to portray. Editing the opening was also time-consuming for our main editor Eugenia. She would often finish editing but the film would be over the available time. Thankfully we were able to help her and assist her by pointing out areas in which she could tighten up the editing.
Overall, the end product was very different from when we first sat at the planning board. However, that is all part of the process. Our piece grew to become the best version of itself, as we tweaked it and perfected it as we found problems.
